Prof. Gengsheng Weng received his BS degree in 2007 in Polymer Materials and Engineering from Sichuan University and his PhD in Polymer Science and Engineering from Sichuan University in 2012. Since then, he has been working at the School of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering, Ningbo University, where he is currently a Full Professor of polymer materials. In 2016-2017, he was a Visiting Professor at prof. Jie He’s group at the University of Connecticut. He won the first-class prize of the Ningbo University Youth Academic Innovation Award (only 1 winner) and the Excellent Research Paper award in Ningbo. Currently, He is leading two National Natural Science Foundation projects, three Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects, and six projects at the municipal level. He published more than 60 SCI papers in renowned international journals such as Advanced Materials, Advanced Functional Materials, Macromolecules, Chemistry of Materials, Journal of Materials Chemistry A, and Journal of Materials Chemistry C. He has been granted three Chinese invention patents.
Research interests：1) responsive/smart polymer materials；2）high-performance rubber materials
